You have just signed a partnership with a digital marketing agency for your online business and you are anxious to start campaigns. Glad that now you’re “visible on the internet”, you’re starting to look for your ad on Google.
You do this a few times in a row. Searched for it in all possible ways, but it doesn’t appear?
This makes you think something is not good and you want to know what’s going on as soon as possible. Perhaps you have already gone through this as a client, perhaps you are at the beginning and you were thinking of doing the same or maybe you are on the other side of the wall (Google Ads specialist) and you have met clients who have done so.
To help out, I will explain top 3 reasons why you do not see your google ads
1. You are not in the target area of your campaigns
Example: You own a pizza business that delivers only in sector 3. To avoid wasting budget for irrelevant searches outside of the delivery area, you are targeting the ads for sector 3 only. You are home in sector 5 and you want to see how does the ads look like on Google. You’re looking, searching, but cannot find it at all. Being outside the target area, you will not be able to view the ad.
2. You make the search outside the ad appearance schedule
Example: You own a flower shop that makes home deliveries only between 10:00 and 17:00, and the orders are only picked up by phone. In order not to waste your budget outside of delivery times, you are scheduled to show ads only within the timeframe you can pick up orders and deliver. So, if you just arrived at the office at 8:00 and while drinking your morning coffee you want to see what your ad looks like on Google, you will certainly not see it because the ads will only start running at 10:00.
3. The ad is displayed according to the shown interest
Example: You own an online store that sells women’s accessories (handbags, wallets, scarves). Curious to see how does each of the three category ads look like, you search for them individually. Your first ad appears and you’re excited about what you see, but to avoid spending your budget you don’t click on it. Same thing with the second search. You’re on the third search but this time the ad is not displayed. Just to be sure you are going to the fourth search without any result.
Google believes that if you repeatedly search your own ad, but never click on it, you shouldn’t see it at all. The Google system recognizes your device and does not show you ads that he feels you are not interested in.
What can you do?
To ensure that your ads are displayed on the search network and to see how they’re displayed, you can use the Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool that you can access from your Google Ads account.
Considering the top 3 reasons why you do not see your Google Ads and having the Google tool available, you can be sure your ad is displayed on the search network without affecting the clickthrough rate with useless views or the budget with irrelevant clicks.
